The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have detained more than 3,000 Palestinian children since the eruption of the Aqsa intifada in September 2000, the Husam society catering for prisoners said.

The Palestinian center for the defense of prisoners said on Monday that there are still 340 Palestinian children in Israeli jails exposed to many deliberate violations against their basic rights.

It has Egyptian rights groups and human rights advocates angered over the apparent use of force against children.
