On the start of the new Hijri year, the Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance offers greetings and congratulations to the men and women of the January 2011 Revolution inside and outside Egypt and to all the patriotic Egyptian people.

Today, we are witnessing noisy manifestations and artificial festivities around a new farcical military junta travesty, that is the coup regime's illegitimate parliamentary elections which Al-Sisi delayed repeatedly until his son (running Egypt's Intelligence Agency) and his gang finished "setting" everything to fit the size of the General.

Watching this farce unfold, as it wastes the people's time and squanders the country's wealth and resources, to legitimize the rule of the General who brutally trampled the will of the people, we call on all Egyptians to boycott these sham elections.

We call them to participate in the peaceful activities of a "Resist the Illegitimate Parliament" revolutionary week.

This is indeed a farce being played over the dead bodies of thousands of Egyptians. It's a farce performed despite the bereaved's sadness and suffering. It's a farce aimed at granting legitimacy to the usurper of power, who is always keenly aware of his illegitimacy.

But we can assure him that whatever he does and whatever farcical maneuvers he makes, or elections he rigs, he will remain an Illegitimate president, a murderer who killed thousands of Egyptians, and will remain a symbol of corruption, tyranny and despotism. The Revolution will rage on until victory and the ouster of his putschist regime.

We further assure that this coup is weak and fragile, no matter what how powerful it claims to be. It survives on a respirator that will not last long. It can never face the people in real democratic elections. Victory over this coup regime simply needs more giving and sacrifice, and more revolutionary unity.

Over the past few days, we observed more indicators of the collapse of the economy and the increase of suffering of the people under the rule of the coup regime, while the traitorous General and his gang seek to increase this suffering by imposing yet more taxes on many goods.

We also witnessed the great and heroic sagas of our brothers and sisters in occupied Palestine. We pay tribute to those patriots struggling against the Zionist occupiers, and solemnly salute the champions of the ongoing third uprising. We pray to God for victory and empowerment for them, to help them be steadfast and courageous, and to make this blessed intifada an end to the Zionists' occupation and oppression, and a good start for the re-establishing of the State of Palestine - free and independent, with Jerusalem as its capital.

Victory for the January 2011 Revolution in Egypt
