Freedom and Justice Party Statement Condemns Unjust Death Sentences
Freedom and Justice Party Statement Condemns Unjust Death Sentences
The FJP, the Muslim Brotherhood's political arm, slams mass execution orders by the junta, made through their subjugated judiciary, against January 25 Revolution leaders.
Saturday, April 11,2015 21:25

The junta's judiciary issued shockingly unjust death and life imprisonment sentences today (Saturday) against 51 January 25 Revolution icons and non-violent national action figures, including Muslim Brotherhood Chairman Badie and a group of journalists and media professionals.

These ludicrous sentences come only a few hours after the visit by ousted Mubarak's two sons to Tahrir Square, which in turn comes only days after the absurd acquittal of Mubarak and his Interior Minister of the killing of demonstrators in Tahrir Square during the January 25, 2011 Revolution.

Despite their extreme cruelty, those verdicts and sentences steel the resolve of supporters of democratic legitimacy and good values as well as patriotic citizens who seek the betterment of this country, with full independence from the West and the East.

They also double the clarity of the Egyptian scene today, proving that the June 30, 2013 coup, was indeed a counter-revolution maneuver against the January 25, 2011 Revolution, with Mubarak and all his regime's top officials now freed, while revolutionaries of all political orientations are dead, detained, maimed, injured, persecuted or exiled.

Today's brutal sentences highlight the importance of the media front to revolutions. Primarily targeted by these severely harsh sentences is a group of journalists and media workers who simply sought to convey the truth to the public and disseminate awareness – which the military junta wanted to repress.

The Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) strongly condemns these intensely politicized verdicts and sentences. The FJP calls on the masses of the Egyptian people to stand united against the traitorous junta that's hijacking the country and plundering its resources and wealth.
