Anti-Coup Alliance Statement: Signs of Coup Failure, Harbingers of Victory Against Putschists
Notwithstanding the ongoing brutal crackdown on peaceful pro-legitimacy, pro-Morsi sit-ins in Cairo, the anti-coup coalition is sure of ultimate triumph.

Traitorous putschists continue to stumble and fall, time after time failing shamefully, until the July 3 coup became an evidently failed bloody attempt at a coup d’etat.

The putschist military-installed government announces illegitimate provincial governor changes, appointing 17 generals to take control of Egypt’s governorates, in a blatant declaration of militarization of the state, as it tries to steel its grip on power throughout the country in alliance with Mubarak era symbols of corruption.

Appointing Mubarak regime officials known for their corruption and inefficiency highlights the July 3 coup commanders’ determination to bury the January 25 (2011) Revolution.

For the first since the January 25 Revolution, military forces forcibly broke up a workers’ demonstration in Suez, physically assaulting workers protesting peacefully, and detaining a number of them in unprecedented action that confirms the putschists’ complete rejection of the January 25 Revolution’s principles and their determination to restore repressive practices of past eras of oppression and injustice.

Involving the country’s military in the attack on workers exposes the coup commanders’ schemes to sow discord between the Egyptian people and their brave armed forces.

While the putschists involve our armed forces in the attack on workers protesting peacefully, we see them continue in their confused management of security in the Sinai. As they allow Israeli aircraft to violate our airspace, a military spokesman issued conflicting statements. Whatever they affirm in the morning, they deny in the evening. And whatever they affirm in the evening, they deny in the morning, in an absurd chaotic scene that reveals tremendous incompetence and malicious intent that disgraces Egypt.

All these are manifestations of failure and signs of collapse. Indeed, we affirm that victory is near. We emphasize that our revolution is getting stronger, day after day, with new national, patriotic and revolutionary groups and movements joining our sit-ins. The people’s anger has reached unprecedented proportions.

We urge all free Egyptians in the streets and public squares of Egypt to continue their revolt, and we assure them of ultimate victory, soon. We vow to persevere in our peaceful protests. We will defeat the bloody coup with our non-violent persistence. We will restore full, uncompromised legitimacy, and invalidate all the bloody coup’s actions and effects.

"Think not that Allah is unaware of what the wicked do." (Quran 14:42)

God save Egypt, its people and its army from the wicked deeds of some of its leaders.
