FJP MPs Call for Independent Investigation Into Violent Clashes
Newly elected Freedom and Justice Party, (FJP) candidates Sayed Gad Alla and Mustafa Bakry released a statement following a meeting with Dr. Abdul Qawy Cairo’s governor discussing the current security situation in Qasr el Aini Street and the areas around Cabinet buildings.

Newly elected Freedom and Justice Party, (FJP) candidates Sayed Gad Alla and Mustafa Bakry released a statement following a meeting with Dr. Abdul Qawy Cairo’s governor discussing the current security situation in Qasr el Aini Street and the areas around Cabinet buildings.

Speaking to Ikhwanweb Gad Allah stated: “The released statement simply calls for the immediate end to violence and forming of a fact-finding committee made up of the elected parliamentarians to investigate the incidents”.

Other FJP MPs signed the statement including Dr. Khaled Mohamed Ahmed, Yousry Bayoumi, Khaled Hanafy, Yaser Abd Allah, Almohamady Mohamed Abdul Maqsoud, Adel Hamad, Gamal Hanafy Gamal, Abdul Basat Qubes, Ramadan Ezz. Elected parliamentarians Mustafa Bakry and Ashraf Saad Abdul Rahman also signed the statement.

The statement called for the formation of a fact-finding committee in coordination with the National Council for Human Rights to find those responsible for attacking protesters and instigating violence and to immediately bring them to trial to prevent them from spreading chaos within the society, destabilize the country and destroy its historical treasures

The statement called on all national and political forces and youth coalitions to stand in the face of any plots to abort the revolution and its achievements. “We call on all patriotic forces to unite and endorse the democratic process and the completion of the parliamentary and presidential elections, in order to guarantee the smooth transition of power to civilian elected authority and the draft the new constitution”, the statement read.
