Mr. Ahmed Ezz Eddin, media spokesman for Muslim Brotherhood (MB) journalists, expressed his delight as the Egyptian Journalists' Syndicate announced Wednesday October 26 the date to hold elections for the post of syndicate chairman and general assembly members. He also praised Egyptian justice for ending attempts to disrupt the journalists’ trade union endeavours when, on Sunday, Egypt’s High Administrative Court overturned an administrative court decision issued last week to cancel both Journalists' Syndicate elections. In a statement to IkhwanWeb, Ezz Eddin said that setting the date of the elections “is a victory for the free will of the journalists who want to move to an elected assembly that will restore journalists lost freedoms and provide excellent services to all journalists”. He explained that MB journalist candidates (namely: Mohammad Abdul Quddus, Qutb Al-Arabi, Hani Makkawi, Hani Salah Eddin, and Khaled Barakat) are ready for the elections, and have a clear vision for the advancement of the syndicate. |
