Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) leader, Dr. Mohamed Morsi, met with Danish Ambassador Christian Hob Thursday in Cairo to discuss current events in Egypt following the January 25 Revolution.

Morsi emphasized the significance of global support to Egypt’s economy in the upcoming period. “Egypt is currently working on rectifying the damages caused to state institutions through corruption by the former regime. Furthermore, the country needs to be rebuilt and needs support and assistance from its friends worldwide,” he said.

He described the approaching parliamentary elections as an important element for the country’s stability, stressing that “It is imperative that all political factions coordinate and unite in the forthcoming phase which is considered the most crucial period for Egypt and its future since it will define the reform path which the country craves."

The Danish Ambassador stressed Denmark’s insistence on continuing relations with Egypt during the coming stage. “Denmark currently has investments in Egypt and it is very likely that these will increase in the near future following the transition of power and Egypt’s stability,” he said.
