The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) has expressed its deep concern regarding the lives of protesters in Tahrir Square.
EOHR has also condemned assaults on correspondents and journalists covering the violent clashes in Tahrir Square.
They hold the new Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Shafik responsible for the safety of Egyptian reporters, human rights activists and journalistic crews working for BBC, CNN, Al-Jazeera, Al-Arabiya and Al-Hurra, in pursuance of their legitimate right to peacefully demonstrate and express their opinion freely that is guaranteed under the Constitution and international covenants on human rights.
In a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Ikhwanweb, the organization called on Mubarak's new Prime Minister to immediately release the detainees and that their places of detention be made public immediately to protect them from danger.
