MB leaders: The continued Egyptian attempts to immolate themselves is a desperate message against the tyranny

The attempts of Egyptians to burn themselves in protest to the dire economic situation in front of parliament has continued for the second consecutive day.

 The attempts of Egyptians to burn themselves in protest to the dire economic situation in front of parliament has continued for the second consecutive day.

 Security Officials reported they foiled the attempt of a retired official to burn himself in front of the parliament. He was taken to Al-Sayeda Zeynab police station for investigations. This happened minutes after lawyer, Reda Mohamed Farouq Hassan, 50, burnt himself in the Al-Sayeda Zeynab area and was taken to Al-Moneera hospital.

 Abdo Abdel Monem Kamal, 50-years-old, from the Ismailia governorate also set  himself ablaze due to the difficulty of getting bread for his family.

 Dr. Ahmed Diab, secretary-general for the Muslim Brotherhood's 2005 parliamentary bloc and member of the current People’s Parliament, stated that: “One would only burn himself after reaching a state of despair".

 Diab told Ikhwanweb that “This is a message that should reach all officials who should begin with immediate reforms to alleviate the state of anger to avoid the country from going through any reformist revolution.”

 He added “We hope there will be no chaos or public security disorder, however the Egyptian people are suffering daily from the government's incompetence and it should act and start reforming before it is too late.”

 Sobhi Saleh, assistant secretary of the 2005 MB parliamentary bloc and member of the People’s Parliament, stated that these actions are simple responses by the citizens and an expression of the despair of the people in having no real Parliament that represents them, and cares for their needs and rights. He pointed out that the current forged parliament will increase the pains of the people, which the former MB and opposition MPs in the 2005 parliament were trying to alleviate.

 Saleh asserted “It seems that Mohamed Bu Azizi, the Tunisian man who burnt himself and was the reason behind these protests will be a symbol for all those oppressed who lost faith in their governments to bring about any reform or change".
