Local sources said that soldiers fired sound bombs, tear gas, and rubber bullets at participants in the march, which was bound for land threatened with confiscation near the Karmi Tsur settlement, which resulted in several injuries. The sources confirmed that three people were injured during the clashes, including a press photographer Nasser Shyoukhi, who was afflicted with minor bruises, 14-year-old Mohammed Ibrahim Abu Maria, who was hit in the back with a canister, and 8-year-old Mohammed Jawad, who was hit with a sound bomb to the head. The IOF soldiers arrested a number of activists, who participated in the march by the dozens, and transported them to unknown destinations. Israeli settlers living in Karmi Tsur collaborated to suppress the march by throwing stones and shouting racial slurs at participants. In similar instances, IOF soldiers arrested Saturday at dawn two Palestinians from Al-Khalil. In the village of Dura, IOF forces arrested Palestinian Majid Ektait after a raid on his house, and erected a barrier in the town's center. IOF troops also erected a barrier in downtown Al-Khalil at the entrance to the Old City and detained dozens of Palestinian young men and citizens, and handed summons to a number of them. |
