Members of the Muslim Brotherhood, Al-Ghad Party, the National Association for Change, Kefaya Movement, 6 April Youth Movement and students from the different colleges in Beheira governorate participated in the protest in solidarity with the "emergency-law martyr" and all the other victims of torture in Egypt.
Ahmed Milad, head of Al-Ghad General Committee, stated in an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb that the protest came in solidarity with the dignity of the Egyptian citizens and in objection to the systematic use of torture by Egyptian security apparatuses which recently resulted in the death of Khaled Saeed.
He ascertained that this would be the first of many protests to be held in the Beheira governorate against injustice.
