NABLUS,  A Palestinian citizen was wounded at dawn Thursday at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Nablus while 16 others were arrested, press sources reported.

They said that the IOF troops rounded up 11 Palestinians in Nablus district, three from Asker refugee camp and 8 from Fare'a refugee camp.

The IOF command claimed that one of them tried to escape so the soldiers fired at and injured him. It identified the man as Jamal Eshtiwi, 32, from Fare'a.

The IOF soldiers broke into tens of homes in that refugee camp after which violent confrontations were reported by between invading troops and youths in the camp. The IOF soldiers closed all entrances to the camp and used teargas canisters and live and rubber bullets against the demonstrators.

The IOF command said in a statement on Thursday that its forces rounded up five other Palestinians in Al-Khalil, Bethlehem and Ramallah.
