OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, -- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have barred farmers in Aisawiya town in occupied Jerusalem from reaching their farmlands in a bid to expropriate them later.
Hani Al-Aisawi, a member of the defense of land committee in the village, said in a press statement on Tuesday that the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) had pursued the same method before and confiscated a chunk of their land to establish the so-called E1 settlement project in which the IOA is planning to build 4,000 housing units that would serve as a liaison between occupied Jerusalem and the settlement of Ma'aleh Adumim.
He noted that the Israeli higher court had allowed the farmers to access their lands but the IOF troops disregarded the ruling.
