Israeli occupation police violently quelled a peaceful march in occupied Jerusalem that started from Bethlehem on the occasion of Palm Sunday, local sources reported.

They said that 200 Palestinians and foreigners participated in the march that called for freedom of worship while hoisting Palestinian flags and placards denouncing the separation wall, expansion of settlement activity, and judaization of Jerusalem.

The demonstrators managed to enter Jerusalem despite the police road barriers but when they arrived at Beit Safafa crossing they were besieged by more than 300 policemen and soldiers who severely beat up the participants and arrested 16 of them.
