GENEVA, (PIC)-- Israel has announced that it would not cooperate with the UN investigative team mandated by the UN human rights council last January to probe Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Yigal Palmor, the Israeli foreign ministry spokesman said on Friday, "This committee has been instructed to find Israel guilty no matter what and there is no point in cooperating with such a masquerade."

The UN earlier announced in Geneva that a four-member team led by the expert in war crimes Richard Goldstone would head to Gaza within two days.

The South African Goldstone said that he would reach Gaza through the Egyptian Rafah crossing on 1st of June and would stay there for one week, stressing that he would go ahead in his investigative mission with or without the cooperation of Israel.

He said that the team members intend to meet with victims of the Israeli aggression and eyewitnesses along with non government organizations and UN agencies.
