The Hamas Movement has completed its internal elections process and renewed chairmanship of Khaled Mishaal for its political bureau for the fourth consecutive time, a responsible source in the Movement said on Sunday.

The source said in a press release that despite the security conditions engulfing the Movement, Hamas carried out the elections out of commitment to the Shoura (consultation) principle.

He underlined that Mishaal was elected as chairman while Dr. Mahmoud Al-Zahhar, Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya and Nizar Awadallah from the Gaza Strip joined the political bureau along with the current members Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, Sami Khater, Emad Al-Alami, Mohammed Nazzal, Ezzet Al-Resheq and Mohammed Nasr.

The names of the political members from the West Bank were not announced in view of the current exceptional conditions in the West Bank, the source concluded.

Mishaal was first elected as chairman of Hamas"s political bureau in 1996.
