The downton Cairo building of Al-Ghad Tomorrow’s Party was set ablaze during its general assembly meeting, eyewitnesses told Ikhwanweb. The downton Cairo building of Al-Ghad Tomorrow"s Party was set ablaze during its general assembly meeting, eyewitnesses told Ikhwanweb. Activists in the party said that an anti-Ayman Nour wing led by Mousa Mostafa stormed into the party headquarters under protection of security forces, and threw Molotov cocktail and stones on the party headquarters setting it ablaze.Eyewitnesses said that columns of smoke rose above the building while others added that the fire has seemingly extended to the Greek club- an archeological place neighboring the party headquarters.

Aljazeera channel reported that Egyptian security have denied journalists access to the building entrance. Police spokesman said that the fire was caused by a short circuit.

Mohamed Atef- an activist- told Ikhwanweb that dozens of the injured were moved Al-Muneeb hospital. He said the injured include party leaders like Abd Al-Moneim Al-Tunsi, Afaf Kheir and Hossam Shehata. Some activists were detained from the party and were sent to Qasr Al-Neel Police Station.

eyewitnesses confirmed that security forces sealed off the region where the party headquarters is located and detained and hunted activists ho were atending the meeting of the Al-Ghad"s general assembly.

Ayman Nour is the founder of Al-Ghad Party and was a main rival in 2005 presidential elections against president Hosni Mubarak. he is currently serving a five year prison sentence on charge of forging papers of founding the party. His supporters say that the case is politically motivated to get rid of Ayman Nour political activity.
