The Hamas Movement on Monday renewed assertion that all Palestinian factions should attend the expected national conciliation dialog in Cairo.

Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, said in a press release that PA chief Mahmoud Abbas"s declaration that all PLO factions had agreed to the Egyptian draft proposal on conciliation talks reflected Abbas"s insistence on showing that the discord in the Palestinian arena was between PLO factions and Hamas only.

He clarified that such an idea meant that preparations were ongoing for a dialog between two parties only and not a comprehensive one.

Abu Zuhri noted, in this respect, that a number of Palestinian factions were not invited to the dialog despite being bigger and more influential than the ones which were invited.

He described the Egyptian draft proposal as having many good points, but underscored that it was a draft for discussion and not a final document for signing.

The spokesman said that the Hamas delegation in Cairo agreed with the Egyptian officials on this point and handed them all remarks on the draft, "which we hope would be taken into account to provide the suitable atmosphere for ensuring success of the dialog".
