A court of appeals in Alexandria ordered on Sunday the immediate release without bail 15 Muslim Brotherhood members who were arrested during the events of Al Jazeera School.

The court accepted the appeal filed from Khalaf Ahmed, the MB’s lawyer in Alexandria, against the detention of Nasser Kamel, Mohamed Salem, Mamduh Hussein, Salah Madani, Mohamed Hafez, Saeed Abdul-Fattah, Masoud Gaber, Talaat Fahmy (the school owner), Hosni Gebril, Rabea Abdul-Qadir, Galal Nada, Ahmed Abdul-Lateef, Mohamed Al Ghannam, Mustafa Al Maddah and Ashraf Abdul-Aziz.

The defense argued that the defendents did not commit any crimes and that their detention was politically motivated in order to pressure the MB not to pursue a legal action in the case of Hamada Abdul-Lateef, one of the parents who was viciously assulted by police officer Assayed Mohamed Assayed, causing his paralysis from the neck down.

Meanwhile, security forces at Suez Canal University arrested seven MB students on Sunday, October 12, after organizing a reception for the freshmen students. The detainees are: Mohamed Sayyed Salem (Faculty of Education), Ahmed Mohamed Mansur and Mohamed Ismail Assayed (Faculty of Commerce), Mahmud Mohamed Al Shurbagy, Mustafa Ashraf Mustafa, Emad Suleiman Khalil and Islam Abdul-Qadir Mahmud (Faculty of Commerce).
