The Israeli occupation authority announced on Sunday that the blockade on the Gaza Strip would continue through closure of all crossings surrounding it.

The Israeli war minister, Ehud Barak, said during the weekly cabinet session that Israel would continue closing all crossings to Gaza and would allow limited supplies into the Strip that would meet its minimal needs.

Barak urged the Egyptian authorities to close down the Rafah crossing, which opened five days ago allowing the entry of thousands of Gazans into Egyptian territory to purchase their basic needs that are banned by the IOA.

The Israeli decision coincided with the opening later today of the Arab foreign ministers meeting in Cairo to discuss the Gaza crisis.
