Mushir Al Masri, the secretary-general of the Hamas-led "Change and Reform" bloc in the Palestinian Legislative Council, warned against attempts of the PA president Mahmoud Abbas to recreate "illusions" in the minds of the Palestinians the fake dream of a Palestinian state with temporary borders."

Al-Masri wondered at the president Mahmoud Abbas interview to "Palestine" TV that the dream of a Palestinian state is currently closer than any time ever.

"We sacrifice our blood and lives for establishing a Palestinian state, but it is crystal clear that there are attempts to recreate illusions in the Palestinians minds with a fake dream of a Palestinian state with temporary borders", said Al-Masri in a statement to Ikhwanweb.

"The alleged state is no more than 10% of the total of Palestinian territories, whereas Israeli occupation confirms that Jerusalem is an eternal capital for Israel, making president Mahmoud Abbas"s talk similar to the illusion he experience for long years" added he.

Al-Masri criticized Abbas rejection to holding an inter-Palestinian dialogue. He doubted any possible breakthrough through depending on the Israeli and US support, saying:" We think that the Israelis are the only ones benefiting from the return of this illusion and imposing a fait accompli policy. President Mahmoud Abbas is the only one held accountable for this as he should know that any concessions will be rejected by the Palestinian people. He does not have the right to act upon the Palestinian cause according to his own whims. If he expects that his dependence on foreign powers will enable him to lead the national project alone and establish a fait accompli, then he is mistaken.

The Palestinian MP hoped that Abbas" visit to Cairo on Wednesday " is a beginning for the return of the Arab unity and a conviction of the rhetoric used by Arab countries of dealing with the inter-Palestinian situation through dialogue".

Al-Masri called for exerting more efforts to return the Palestinian cause to its Arab and Islamic context, saying:" We hope that Abbas" visit to Egypt is a beginning for the return to Arab unity and a repulsion to seeking foreign intervention in the Palestinian people, and in Arab countries. We are a part of the Arab and Islamic world and we refuse making the Palestinian cause exclusively related to the Palestinians alone, and we are working for making the cause take its Arab and Islamic strategic dimensions.

In a related context, Al-Masri denied reports that the movement agreed with Cairo on handing over the security headquarters to Egypt which will in turn hand them over to PA president Mahmoud Abbas, as part of an inter-Palestinian dialogue .

" These are groundless reports. Egypt can"t put itself as a direct party in the disagreement between Hamas and Fatah or to intervene in the Palestinian affair" said Al-Masri.

Media sources reported that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak suggested to his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmoud Abbas, during their meeting in Alexandria on Wednesday, Aug., 8th, that Egypt receives security services premises in Gaza Strip from Hamas Movement and hand them over to the PA, reports which are dismissed by Hams.
